In a new interview with The Daily Mail for its โ€œThe Trial of Diddyโ€ podcast, Richardโ€™s lawyer Lisa Bloom is shining a light on how her client is dealing with this new lawsuit and her reaction to some of the some of the lates updates connected to the case. As previously reported by The Root, back in Sep., Richard accused the disgraced Bad Boy mogul of โ€œbelittling, terrorizing and sexually abusing her.โ€ The two were first connected when she appeared on his hit MTV show โ€œMaking the Bandโ€ back in 2005. Fast forward to 2024, Richard is now alleging she witnessed Diddy while high on drugs, being abusive to his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and maltreatment of her when she was in his group Danity Kane.

Speaking about the allegations, Bloom said of Richard: โ€œSheโ€™s an accomplished woman and sheโ€™s all about the music. All she wants to do is make music and be a musician. And yet, she found herself in the positionโ€”after Cassie Ventura came forwardโ€”of saying, โ€˜I need to come forward too, in support of Cassie, and in support of others, to tell my own story.โ€™โ€

Later in Sep., when it was revealed that Diddy was allegedly using inmates phones to tamper with potential witnessesโ€”including former Danity Kane member Kalenna Harper who has a different memory of her time working with Diddy, Bloom explained that while she was shocked to hear of his alleged moves, she feels heโ€™s doing them out of desperation.

Whatโ€™s more is that Bloom expressed that sheโ€™s definitely looking forward to their day in court, specifically when she gets to finally get Diddyโ€™s deposition from prison.

โ€œIโ€™m very happy to go and take his deposition in prison. Iโ€™ve been to prison for various cases many times, so it doesnโ€™t bother me, doesnโ€™t scare me. And weโ€™ll see what he says about Dawn, and weโ€™ll see what his story is,โ€ Bloom said. โ€œWeโ€™ll see whether it matches up with the documents and information and other witnesses. Weโ€™ll see what he has to say for himself.โ€

This lawsuit joins the many sexual assault suits currently aimed at Diddy including his federal indictment of which he stands to go to trial in May 2025.
