Health care company Amerigroup is currently looking for a medical director in Metairie, La., to help with the company's entire repertoire of medical products and services. Amerigroup's medical director will be in charge of ensuring that all Amerigroup medical participants receive adequate care and will also serve as the policy adviser to the company's CEO and COO.

In addition to various other responsibilities, Amerigroup's medical director is also in charge of representing the company's health care division at all health care-sector events, meetings, conferences and so on.
Ideal candidates should have an MPH, MBA or M.A., as well as at least five years of clinical experience in the health care field. Candidates must be licensed practitioners in a field and must be recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialists. Management skills and adequate knowledge of regulatory agencies and government health care issues are also a plus.
