It’s no wonder. The vicious murder captured on video ignited passions across the globe. Many are using the Internet as an outlet to express their emotions. They are responding to what law-enforcement officials are calling a hate crime after two teens used a 1998 Ford F-250 to run over Anderson.

Web pages are devoted to the victim. Some are calling for the executions of Deryl Dedmon and John Aaron Rice, who were 18 when Anderson, 49, was run down on June 26 in Jackson, Miss., HuffPost reports.

The incident comes at a precarious time for Mississippi, which recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Freedom Rides. Haley Barbour, governor of the state known for its history of racial violence, recently signed legislation to provide initial funding for a national civil rights museum, the site says.
