TheWrap reports that the film is expected to make up to $40 million, more than any of the six sequelsย in the 39-year-oldย Rocky franchise.

The MGM/New Line Cinema drama, which stars Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan, is expected to sail past the $35 million production budgetย by roughlyย $5 million by Sunday, making it a commercial success, according to the entertainment news outlet.

The film was directed and written by Ryan Coogler, who teamed with Jordan two years ago on the critically acclaimed Fruitvale Station.

โ€œThey donโ€™t make movies as unabashedly emotional as thisย very often these days, and as well-executed as itย is, Iโ€™d expect it toย connect,โ€ media analyst Jeff Bock told TheWrap.

Creed follows No. 1 box office drawย The Hunger Games: Mockingjayโ€”Part 2,โ€ which is expected to rake in $75 million.ย The Good Dinosaur, the Pixar Animation family film, comes in at No. 2 and is expected to earn up to $55 million through Sunday for Disney, the report says.

The film is also a hit on Twitter:
