The embattled 24-year-old singer will spend more than one month behind bars, TMZ reported Saturday. He was arrested Friday on a warrant after he was kicked out of a rehabilitation center in Malibu, Calif., where he was being treated for anger management.

Capt. Mike Parker of the Los Angeles County Sheriff headquarters said in a prepared statement that Brown is being held without bail at the Inmate Reception Center of the Los Angeles County jail downtown.

โ€œThe warrant was issued related to assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats crimes which occurred on February 7, 2009 [an assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna], in the City of Los Angeles,โ€ Parker says in the statement, according to the Daily Mail. โ€œThe warrant was issued for a probation violation related to his conviction.โ€

Brown was asked to leave the center after reportedly violating โ€œinternal rules,โ€ TMZ reports. A judge had ordered Brown to remain in treatment until April 28, when his case for another assault in Washington, D.C., is slated to go to trial.

Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, will appear in court Monday to ask the judge to give his client a break by allowing him to either receive treatment at another center or go under house arrest until the trial begins, TMZ says. The Malibu center is the second rehab facility that asked Brown to leave.
