Shad Moss — or Bow Wow as he’s more affectionately known — is finally speaking his peace about Diddy—but it didn’t go over well with a whole bunch of people.

During a sit down interview with Rocsi Diaz for her “More to the Story” podcast, the “Fresh Azimiz” rapper discussed everything from his time hosting “106 & Park,” to staying grounded in the industry to Diddy and his famous parties.
While both Rocsi and Bow Wow made it clear they attended Diddy industry parties and not the alleged “freak offs,” Bow Wow admitted that he missed the fun times and lamented at seeing this grand figure in hip-hop going out in this manner.
“I think a lot of us really never thought we would see this. But for me, it’s like it’s unreal. It seems unreal at times,” he said, before later adding: “He’s like the gatekeeper to the game to the point to where—like, BET Award weekend, the past two, it didn’t feel right. There was no motion, there was no parties. There was nowhere to go. The industry parties—the parties that we attend.”
He also went on to say that he’s able to separate Diddy’s mounting legal drama from who he is as a figure in the culture and all that he represented to those who grew up wanting to emulate his hustle and garner a similar influence.
“I’m separating it, I’m talking about him as the artist, the person. It shows how monumental, important he was to the culture,” he said.
He continued:
You feel it. It’s like a hole. It’s like damn! He was such a gatekeeper for the liquor, the clubs. He was everything hip hop! So for that to die out, you just would have never thought. Especially when you look at somebody as somebody you studied, somebody you looked at as somebody who hustled, when it comes to business and how to run your shit. It’s like he was the guy that every young hustler looked up to and wanted to either be like or wanted to pass.”
As the interview began to circulate online, many folks on social media began giving the “Let Me Hold You” rapper a serious side eye for openly admitting to missing turning up with Diddy — especially in light of the Bad Boy mogul’s recent arrest and federal indictment.
“Bow wow said without Diddy outside it’s no parties going on and it don’t feel rite,” one user commented.
“I feel sorry for Bow Wow. Even if this is true, he should pretty much always STFU about everything. And folks may be scared to throw lavish parties now, which is dumb. Diddy brought the fun AND the crime so STFU. #Diddy,” wrote one user.
