Black Stars’ Best 2024 Emmys Fashion

Ariana DeBose, Angela Bassett and Damon Wayans Jr. showed out on the red carpet at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmys.

If it feels like we were just honoring the best artists and technicians in television, that’s because we were in January. Fresh off a strike shortened season, it’s time to once again recognize TV’s top talents. Before we jump into the main broadcast of the 76th Primetime Emmys on Sunday, Sept. 15, over the weekend, the Television Academy recognized the guest actors, voiceover artist, technical geniuses and special events that made TV must watch this year.

During the two night showcase, notable winners included Angela Bassett, Michaela Coel, Maya Rudolph and Eric André. One of the biggest stories of the event was “The Traitors’” Alan Cumming ending RuPaul’s extraordinary winning streak in the Host for a Reality or Competition Program category. In surprising news, “The Idol”—widely considered one of the worst TV series ever—won an Emmy for choreography. If you’re looking for hints about which shows will dominate the Primetime Emmys, look no further than big winners “The Bear” and “Shōgun.”

With New York Fashion Week taking over runways, film festivals in full swing and awards season kicking off, our favorite Black stars brought their best looks to the 76th Creative Arts Emmys.

Hosted by father and son comedy duo Eugene and Dan Levy, the 76th Primetime Emmys air Sunday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC.
