The Black Eyed Peas have been named the 2011 Super Bowl halftime musical act. In a move that signals that the NFL may just be getting over the "nipplegate" incident seen around the world, thanks to Matt Drudge, visual technology, Janet Jackson and, of course, Justin Timberlake. Even though we love "The Boss," Bruce Springsteen, and his E Street Band; Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers; and the Who, we'd like a little more "Boom, Boom, Pow" during the Super Bowl. Playing it safe with the Black Eyed Peas is a good look and, contrary to popular belief, shows just how mainstream the "futuristic" band really is.
