In 2019, he shared that he lost an additional 40 pounds by following the keto diet, which essentially cuts out all carbohydrates. In 2022, Roker revealed that he lost another 45 pounds after adding regular exercise to his lifestyle.

Fast forward to 2025, and the 70-year-old has been the healthiest heโ€™s ever been, using all the knowledge heโ€™s gained over the years to keep the weight off.

While his dramatic weight transformation may seem like an unattainable task for some, during a recent interview with The Daily Mail, Roker revealed that his secret to losing weight is as simple as walking.

While at the Start Today app launch event, Roker shared, โ€œI try not to go hogwire. I just like to work things in. Thatโ€™s why I like to walk.โ€

He continued, โ€œYou can walk to other things to go do stuff. I mean, I was running a little behind, but normally, I would have taken a walk to the subway. I would have walked to the subway from home and walked over here. Today, Iโ€™ve done 15,000 steps. Today, I had a doctorโ€™s appointment, so I walked to the doctor, walked back to work, and I walked home. In the building, Iโ€™ve got a Iโ€™ve got a treadmill desk.โ€

Although heโ€™s managed to stay active, Roker understands the struggles people have with food.

In November, he told The Daily Mail that food is โ€œunlike any other addiction or dependence. You can live without alcohol, you can live without cigarettes, whatever that drug of choice is... but youโ€™ve got to eat, and so for some people, itโ€™s just difficult.โ€

He also acknowledged that everyoneโ€™s weight loss journey is different, adding that he doesnโ€™t judge anyone if they use Ozempic, โ€œIf this is what works for them, I mean, who are we to say, โ€˜Oh, donโ€™t do that.โ€™ As long as itโ€™s safe and effective, good for you.โ€
