Since 1999, Pantone has charged global color experts at its Pantone Color Institute with selecting an annual color as a way “to engage the design community and color enthusiasts around the world in a conversation around color.” Looking at the trends and what’s happening in fashion, entertainment and beyond, they select a color they believe represents the culture that year.
