Five Rutgers University football players have been arrested and charged in connection with several campus-area home invasions and assaults, according to a statement announced Friday by New Jersey prosecutors.

Sophomore defensive back Andre Boggs, 20, has been charged with burglary while armed and conspiracy to commit an armed robbery.
According to NJ.com, authorities believe that Boggs and a former student, Tejay Johnson, 23, were involved in two campus-area robberies. In April, prosecutors allege that Boggs and Johnson broke into a home armed with a baseball and a knife and robbed a student of $900 and marijuana. In May, Boggs and Johnson allegedly robbed another student inside the school's dormitory.
In a separate case, four players—junior defensive back Nadir Barnwell, 20; sophomore fullback Razohnn Gross, 20; junior defensive back Ruhann Peele, 22; and junior defensive back Delon Stephenson, 22— were charged with aggravated assault, riot and conspiracy to commit a riot, NJ.com reports. According to the newspaper, the four players were involved in an unprovoked attack that left a 19-year-old student with a broken jaw.
As news of the charges broke, Rutgers issued a statement noting that all five players have been suspended indefinitely from the team.
