A 14-year-old Chicago girl has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 14-year-old Endia Martin.
According to ABC7 Chicago, Endia was shot by a female classmate on Monday while walking home from Tilden Career Academy, when she was shot in the back around 4:30 p.m.
Two young men, ages 17 and 24, were also charged in the slaying. Authorities believe that they may have been responsible for bringing the gun to the fight between the girls. The female suspect, whose name has not been released because she a minor, has been charged as a juvenile.
"What would have been, under any other circumstances, a fistfight between girls arguing over a boy turned into a murder," Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy told the news station.
